The IB Story

Since 2010 · Dwarka, Delhi
It Started Where the Passion Already Lived
The court was already there. So was the coach.
Ishwar Bhati had been a Physical Education teacher at ITL Public School, Dwarka Sector 9 long before 2010 — teaching basketball, developing athletes, building what would become something far larger. For years it happened within the natural boundary of school PE: classes, students, a court, a season.
But somewhere along the way, the boundary stopped being enough.
The students coming through his classes were talented — some genuinely exceptional. And Ishwar could see clearly what was missing: structured coaching beyond the school bell, year-round training, international exposure — the kind that changes how a young athlete sees themselves and what they believe is possible.
So in 2010, PE classes became something more deliberate. A coaching academy. A formal structure. A commitment that the court at ITL would be the starting point, not the limit.
Ishwar still teaches Physical Education at ITL Public School today. The academy runs across 9+ locations — but the court where it all began remains his home ground. That continuity is not accidental. It is the whole point.

It’s been 2 years since my daughter joined IB Academy. The atmosphere is safe — which is of utmost importance. Coaches are super knowledgeable and push children to improve. The court is top-notch and the vibe is super supportive. Highly recommend for anyone looking to take their game up a notch.
Mainstream Recognition
When the Industry Calls, We Answer
We did not seek the limelight. Our reputation on the courts of Dwarka brought the cameras to us. Film productions reach us through casting agencies, researchers, and word-of-mouth that only builds when the work is consistently real.
When the industry needs authentic basketball, they call Coach Ishwar.
IB Sports Foundation
Talent Has No Postcode
Alongside the Academy, one question kept surfacing: what about the children who cannot afford fees? What about those with genuine talent and no access?
The answer became IB Sports Foundation — our social impact arm, running under the same coaching team and the same values. To date, the Foundation has directly served 50+ children through its programmes, and that number grows every season.

Why Basketball
India’s Most Underrated Sport Has Been Waiting Its Turn
Cricket has decades of infrastructure and cultural momentum. Football is finding its audience. We celebrate every sport that captures a child’s imagination.
But basketball has quietly been waiting its turn.
Consider what the sport actually is — one of the fastest formats in competitive sport. A game where each team gets possession alternately, meaning the momentum never stays in one place for long. Physically demanding, tactically deep, and accessible: all you need is a ball and a court.
The sport has everything. What it has lacked in India is not talent — it is opportunity. No visible pathway from a school court to a career. The infrastructure that turns a sport into a movement was simply never assembled for basketball the way it was for other sports. An entire generation of potential players grew up without knowing what they might have been — not because they lacked ability, but because nobody opened the door.
That is what IB Sports Academy exists to change. We are not in competition with any other sport. We are simply opening a door that should have been open a long time ago.
Fastest Court Game
Alternate possession means constant momentum swings. Never a dull moment.
Complete Development
Builds fitness, coordination, spatial awareness, and decision-making simultaneously.
Global Pathways
Basketball opens doors to US college scholarships and international competition that few Indian sports can match.
Recognition
What the Work Has Been Recognised For
Ishwar never coached for awards. He coached because the gap was real and someone had to fill it. The recognition that followed — from governments, sports bodies, and national committees — is the record of what happens when you simply don’t stop.
